Heft, Edna E. Edna Elizabeth Heft, age 92 of Fremont , passed away Saturday, October 19, 2002 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont . Edna was born on February 20, 1910 in Sparta Township to Julius Joseph and Winniefred (English) Erhart and married Melvin Lyle Heft on February 24, 1934 in Grand Rapids . Lyle preceded her in death on April 5, 1983 . She has been a resident of the Fremont area since 1953 when she moved from Conklin. She had owned and operated the M. Lyle Heft Farm Equipment with her husband until their retirement. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Lotus #109 in Marne and had been active it the Tindall Ladies Aid Society. She is survived by her son, Edward (Goldie) Heft of Alpha, Ohio ; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Heft of Fremont ; 7 grandchildren; several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Walter Heft on December 28, 1995 and by a brother, George Erhart. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 22, 2002 from the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Rev. John Moser presiding with interment in the Clark Cemetery .
