Edna Yancey, age 76 of White Cloud, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2010 at her home. Edna was born on February 12, 1933 in Amity, Arkansas to Herman Martin and Mary Ethel (Rush) Ballard and married Harley Yancey in 1953 in Arkansas. Harley preceded her in death on May 25, 2003. Edna had been a production worker at the General Motors Company, Fisher Body Plant #2 in Grand Rapids until her retirement in 1968. Edna moved to the White Cloud area in 1997 from Zeeland and enjoyed watching and feeding her hummingbirds, camping and spending time with her grandchildren. Edna was also a foster grandparent at the White Cloud Public Schools for many years. She is survived by her children, Harold (Deb) Yancey of Cedar Springs; Donna (Sidney)Vande Vusse of Holland; Harold F. Yancey Jr. Buddy of White Cloud; James (Barb) Yancey of West Olive; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; her brother-in-law, Bob Fenton of Monticello, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters. Memorial services will be held at a later time following her wishes of cremation.
