Edward Joseph Isbell, age 84 of White Cloud, formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2023 at his home. Ed was born on January 12, 1939 in Grand Rapids to Howard Z. and Theresa B. (Staskiewicz) Isbell and married Bonnie Wismar on August 2, 1974 in Grand Rapids. Ed had been the chief mechanic for the City of Walker for many years until his retirement and had also served as a volunteer on the Walker Fire Department. Ed and Bonnie moved to White Cloud in 1994 from Grand Rapids and Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, bird watching and traveling and took a great trip to Alaska in 1994. Ed is survived by his wife, Bonnie of White Cloud; his children, Theresa (Douglas) Norton of Sparta; Edward (Christine) Isbell Jr. of Allendale; Lora Guidebeck of Grand Rapids; Christopher (Stacie) Isbell of Sparta; stepchildren, Kimberly Geluso of Belmont; Andrew (Mary) Misner of Grand Rapids; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; his brother and sisters, Howard Isbell of Grand Rapids; Patricia (Otto) Copeland of Grand Rapids; Jean (Tom) Rozegnal of Grand Rapids; several nieces and nephews. Ed was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Mathews. Following Ed's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
