Obituary

Edward Murat, age 86 of Twin Lake, passed away Saturday at his home following a short illness. Ed was born on August 26, 1926 in Cedar Creek Township and has been a lifelong resident of Cedar Creek Township. Ed joined the United States Army where he served during World War II. After his discharge, Ed returned to the area where he met and married Arlene Forton on October 28, 1950 in Muskegon. Ed had worked at the CWC Foundry in Muskegon for several years until his retirement in 1986. Ed enjoyed spending time in the Michigan outdoors, fishing, hunting, bird watching, driving his golf cart and spending time with his many pets. Ed was a member of the Holton American Legion, Post #411. SURVIVORS : his wife, Arlene of Twin Lake; children, Jean (Richard) Schneider of Twin Lake; Carl (Deborah) Murat of Muskegon; Debra A. Murat of Twin Lake; Linda (Wade) Koch of South Elgin, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers, Clara, Iva, Thomas, Theodore, and Betty. VISITATION : Tuesday from 5-8pm at Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Wednesday at 11am at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. INTERMENT and MILITARY RITES : Oakwood Cemetery in Holton. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Arthritis Foundation.
