Szlauer, Edward Edward Szlauer, age 79 of White Cloud, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at the Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont following a short illness. Edward was born on November 4, 1926 in Lochgelly, West Virginia to John and Suzanna (Sikora) Szlauer and had been a foreman at the Rex Heating and Cooling Company in Detroit until his retirement. Edward moved to the White Cloud area in 1980 from Detroit where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, the Michigan outdoors and was a strong supporter of conservation in Newaygo County. He is survived by his sisters and brother, Anna Copenhagen of White Cloud; Suzanna Kohunsky of Southgate; Emily Szlauer of White Cloud and Florida; Frances Szlauer of White Cloud; Louis Szlauer of Florida; nieces and nephews, Kenneth Copenhagen, John Kohunsky; Stan Kohunsky; Gary Kohunsky; Susan McCallister; Diane Ramey; several great nieces and nephews. Memorial services were held at the family home following cremation. Friends may consider the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association for memorial contributions in memory of Ed.
