Alofs, Edwin L. Edwin L. Alofs, age 56 of White Cloud, formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2006 at his home. Ed was born on January 31, 1950 in Kent County and has been a resident of the White Cloud area for the past 16 years when he moved from Grand Rapids. He married Barbara Vining on November 2, 1990 in White Cloud and enjoyed taking care of animals and tinkering around his home, He is survived by his wife, Barbara of White Cloud; his children, Christopher Alofs of Grand Rapids; Michael Alofs of Grand Rapids; Tim Alofs of White Cloud; Brian Vining of White Cloud; Megan Alofs of White Cloud; his mother, Bena Bakhuyzen of Grand Rapids; his brothers, Donald (Gladys) Alofs of Grand Rapids; Gary (Lori) Alofs of Grand Rapids; Doug (Sharon) Theule of Grand Rapids; his sister, Ruth (Dan) Durst of Muskegon; his father-in-law, Aubrey Vining of White Cloud; his brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws, Aubrey (Kim) Vining of Floriday; Terry (Paula) Vining of White Cloud; Cindy (Lorne) Ritola of Grand Rapids; Gail (Rick) Booth of White Cloud; Linda Vining of White Cloud; Karen (Rich) Miller of Fremont; Sharon (Bill) Altman of White Cloud; Sandra (Matt) Stoner of White Cloud; Cristy Whelpley of White Cloud; Debra Vining of White Cloud; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Gaylord Alofs and by his mother-in-law, Irene Vining. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 22, 2006 from the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel with Pastor Bernie Wethington of the 7th Day Baptist Church in White Cloud presiding with interment in the Big Prairie Everett Township Cemetery in White Cloud.
