Edwin L. Cregg, age 83 of Fremont, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018 at the Hillcrest Nursing Center in Muskegon. Ed was born on December 15, 1934 in Holton to Harris Edwin and Frances Elizabeth (Swenson) Cregg and graduated from Fremont High School in 1954. Ed met and later married Betty Ann Peacock on June 23, 1956 in Holton. Ed has been a lifelong resident of the Fremont area where he had been a truck driver for Direct Transit, Michigan Milk and later retired from Gerber Products Company. Ed had also been a dairy farmer all his life, enjoyed gardening, picking berries, telling stories and was active in 4H all his life. He was also an active member of the Holton Evangelical Lutheran Church. Ed is survived by his wife, Betty Ann of Fremont; his children, Ann (Jeff) Tillman of Fremont; Amy (Rod) Beeler of Fremont; Ed Cregg of Fremont; Theresa (Dennis) Spencer of Sand Lake; Rachel (Kendall) Eldred of Fremont; Karen (Aldon) Struble of Fremont; Roni (Joe) Powers of Fremont; 24 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren; exchange student, Paulo (Mindla) Correa of Brazil; his sisters, Vera Kempf of Holton; Gail (George) McLaughlan of Evart; John (Mary) Cregg of Ludington; many nieces and nephews. Ed was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Cechura on August 14, 1989, his grandsons, Brian Beeler and Calvin Tillman; his brothers Bill Cregg, Claude Cregg and Benjamin Cregg.
