Eileen J. (Clark) Nelson, age 91 of Hesperia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at the Seminole Shores Assisted Living Center in Muskegon. Eileen was born on August 1, 1930 in Muskegon to Earl W. and Nettie Marie (King) Clark and later married Raymond E. Nelson. Raymond preceded her in death on August 23, 2005. Eileen has been a longtime resident of the Hesperia area where she had owned and operated a flower shop in the 1960's and had started Nelson's Qwik Stop in Hesperia with her husband until they sold the business in 1986. Eileen attended the Hesperia United Methodist Church and was well known for kindness and thoughtfulness in the community. She had worked for MISCO/Howmet for 10 years. Eileen had been an artist for over 40 years and painted many pictures of scenes from the Hesperia area and pictures of flowers. She loved angels, butterflies, flower gardening, and quilting. A special thank you to Seminole Shores Terrace for the caring and compassionate care they gave to Eileen during her stay with them. Eileen is survived by her children, Valerie Kay Nelson of Hart; Raelyne (Rick) Castonia of Whitehall; Sharon (Dan) Frees of Hesperia; Michelle (Steve) Carlson of Muskegon: 6 grandsons, 3 great grandson and 3 great granddaughters; her sister, Kathleen Lindsay; brothers, James (Nila) Clark; Ted (Barb) Clark; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Charlene Santiago. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Nettie; her husband, Raymond; her son, Raymond E. Nelson Jr.; daughters, Barbara Homan and Carol Lockwood; grandson, Joseph Frees; brothers, Virgil Clark and Emery Clark. VISITATION : Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 4pm – 7pm at Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel and Wednesday from 12-1pm. FUNERAL SERVICES : Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 1pm at the Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel.
