Elaine A. Gabrion, age 82 of White Cloud, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Elaine was born on September 23, 1926 in Grand Rapids to George and Gertrude (Vanderhoff) Jenkins and met and later married Marvin Gabrion Sr. on February 5, 1944 in Grand Rapids. Elaine has been a longtime resident of the White Cloud area where she had been active in the Foster Grandparents Program for several years. Elaine enjoyed reading, crocheting, mushroom hunting, camping and singing in her younger years. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Marvin Gabrion Sr. of White Cloud; her children, Yvonne (Daniel) Wilkinson of Bitely; Gloria (David) Levine of Marion, Michigan; Christine Hermann of Brethren, Michigan; Michael (Lucinda) Gabrion of Baldwin; Marvin Gabrion of Indiana; David Gabrion of White Cloud; 17 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Meralla Jenkins of Kentwood. She was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers, Char, Ella, Jewell, Frank, John and George. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bitely Community Church with Pastor Kenneth Lyons presiding.
