Eldon Brewer Wolever, age 76 of White Cloud, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2002 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility. He was born on October 23, 1925 in Lansing to Jay and Grace (Brewer) Wolever and married Ruby Bidelman on May 17, 1947 in White Cloud. Eldon has been a lifelong resident of the White Cloud area where he was a member of the Big Prairie Community Church and had retired from Teledyne Continental Motors in Muskegon in 1984. He had served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a life member of the Newaygo V.F.W. Sportsmans Post #4249. Eldon also enjoyed fishing and working at the Big Prairie Everett Township Cemetery . He is survived by his wife, Ruby of White Cloud; his children, James (Charlene) Wolever of Crystal, Michigan; Irene Mullins of St. Joseph, Michigan; Grace (Robert) Dakin of White Cloud; Charolette (Paul) Johnson of White Cloud; very special person, Gerald Horton of White Cloud; 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; his sister, Juanita LaBelle of White Cloud; his brother, Ivan Wolever of Remus; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay & Grace Wolever; his brothers, Veryl, Earyl, Russell Wolever; his sisters, June Nowak & Joyce Harris; his grandson, Scott Mullins. Funeral services were held on Friday, August 30, 2002 from the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel with Rev. Arnold Guikema of the Big Prairie Community Church presiding with military rites given by the Unites States Marine Corps Funeral Detail. Interment was in the Big Prairie Everett Township Cemetery .
