Elizabeth "Betty" Jane Burkholder, a beloved member of the White Cloud, Michigan community, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the age of 87. Betty, a lifelong resident of White Cloud, was born on September 29, 1937, to Eli and Elizabeth (Chupp) Kuhns.

A graduate of White Cloud High School in 1956, Betty was a devoted homemaker and a loving childcare provider. Her passion for nurturing extended beyond her family, reaching into her community with kindness and warmth. As a lifelong member of the White Cloud Mennonite Church, Betty was deeply committed to her faith, and her life was a testament to the values of service and love.

Betty found great joy in quilting, and she was renowned for her delicious homemade donuts, a treat cherished by family and friends alike. Her love for children was immeasurable, and her happiest moments were spent surrounded by her children, 14 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Betty's legacy of kindness, devotion, and warmth will forever be cherished by her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving children: Tim (Twila) Burkholder of Middleburg, PA; Paul (Lori) Burkholder of White Cloud, MI; Rebecca (Richard) Bontrager of Seneca, SC; and Philip (Carolyn) Burkholder of Centreville. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Holleman, a host of sisters-in-law: Barbara Kuhns, Christina Kuhns, Ruby Kuhns, and Ada Kuhns, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Burkholder; her parents, Eli and Elizabeth Kuhns; and her siblings Ruth Kuhns, Susan Fredenburg, Clara Fredenburg, Ira Kuhns, Martin Kuhns, Edwin Kuhns, Rev. David Kuhns, Jonas Kuhns, Eli Kuhns, William Kuhns, and Lenus Kuhns.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Christian Aid Ministries, reflecting Elizabeth's lifelong dedication to helping others. Visitation will be held at White Cloud Mennonite Church on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and again on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A funeral service will follow on Saturday at 11:00 am, with a graveside service at 12:30 pm. Arrangements are provided by Crandell Funeral Home in White Cloud.
