Ellen M. Buttleman, age 82 of White Cloud, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at her home. Ellen was born on May 31, 1939 in Elkhart, Indiana to Owen Richard and Kate (Weddell) Getz and moved to the area at an early age. Ellen graduated the youngest in her class, on her 17th birthday from Fremont High School in 1956 and married Jack Buttleman on June 13, 1958 in Fremont. Jack preceded her in death on April 10, 1985. Ellen had been a production worker at Gibson Frigidaire in Greenville for 36 years until her retirement on May 31, 2001. Ellen enjoyed sewing baby blankets and embroidery. She donated blankets for many local organizations like Gerber Hospital, Newaygo Medical Care Facility, the Veterans Home in Grand Rapids, and even sent blankets to Africa. Her blankets could be found at many local fundraisers such as Kids Free Fishing and the Adam Scott Memorial Rodeo. She enjoyed volunteering at Benny's House and the Clothes Closet in White Cloud. Ellen truly treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ellen is survived by her children, James Buttleman of White Cloud; Mary Brown of White Cloud; son-in-law, Tom Maike of White Cloud; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Buttleman of White Cloud; several grandchildren; many great grandchildren. Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Jack L. Buttleman; her son, John L. Buttleman; her daughter, Alice Maike; step children, Rickey L. Buttleman and Roxanne Buttleman; daughter-in-law, Angie Buttleman; step granddaughter, Jeannie LaBelle; her brothers, Arthur Getz, Jesse Getz, and Marion Getz. VISITATION : Friday, April 15, 2022 at from 10:00 a.m. at the Crandell Funeral Home-White Cloud Chapel 1109 Court Street, White Cloud, MI 49349. MEMORIAL SERVICES: Friday, April 15, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Crandell Funeral Home – White Cloud Chapel. LUNCHEON: Following the memorial service at Everett Township Hall. INTERMENT will be held on her birthday, May 31, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at the Big Prairie Everett Township Cemetery for those wishing to share a memory of Ellen.
