Mavis, Elmer Hugo Carl Jr. Fremont and White Cloud Elmer Hugo Carl Mavis Jr., age 69, of Fremont and White Cloud passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2003 , at Spectrum Health Services Blodgett Campus in Grand Rapids . He was born on September 18, 1933 , in Detroit to Elmer Hugo Carl Mavis Sr. and Elsie (Klein) Mavis and married DeLoris Locke on April 4, 1953 , in Whitelake , Michigan . He is survived by his loving wife DeLoris; children, Lindy (Christopher) Hebel of Gaylord, Michigan, Carl (Kristin) Mavis of Clearwater, Florida, Gary (Jackie) Mavis of Bancroft, Michigan, Kenneth (Annie) Mavis of Highland, Michigan, and Andrew (Elizabeth) Mavis of Holly, Michigan; 7 grandchildren, Randi, Gary Jr., Amanda, Nicholas, John, Zoey, and Lily; 1 greatgrandchild, Jack Kenneth; sisters, Carolyn (Max) Post of Fenton and Mary (Mike) Spring of Paw Paw; brother Ronald Mavis of Grayling; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Jeffery Mavis in 1963. Funeral services were held Thursday at the funeral home Chapel with interment in Pine Lake Cemetery .
