Boltz, Elmore Gary Elmore Gary Boltz, age 66 of Holton, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday at his home. Gary was born on April 19, 1941 in Albion to Elmore Fredrick and Katie M. (Hargrove) Boltz and was raised in Fremont and graduated from Fremont High School in 1959. After graduation, Gary attended Michigan State University and soon joined the Army National Guard. After his discharge from the military, Gary returned to Michigan State and received a Bachelors of Science and Bachelors of Arts Degree. Gary married Norma (Pederson) on April 28, 1979 in Muskegon and together they moved to Holton where they have been residents since. Gary had been a social worker for the Department of Social Services-Muskegon County for 30 years until his retirement in 2002. Gary was an active member of the Holton United Methodist Church, enjoyed spending time on his boat, in his pool and traveling in his motor home. Gary especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Norma of Holton; his children, Cary Ann Gonzales (Rick) Navarre of Twin Lake; Lori (David) Wisniewski of Holton; Ted Boltz of Muskegon; his grandchildren, Katey and Ryan Gonzales; Emma and Abby Wisniewski; his mother, Katie Boltz of White Cloud; his sister and brothers Tom Boltz of Fremont; John (Diana) Boltz of White Cloud; Kay (Kevin) Johnson of Fremont; Fred Boltz of Muskegon; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, Elmore Fredrick Boltz in 1994; his grandson, Samuel Wisniewski in 2001 and his sister, Carrol Boltz in 2005. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at the Holton United Methodist Church with Pastor Jerry Selleck of the Holton United Methodist Church presiding with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery in Holton. The family would prefer contributions in lieu of flowers to the Holton United Methodist Church for future building projects. Class of '59, that was our year. I remember Gary as being a really nice guy, very much into FFA. I'm proud that we were classmates. Treasure your memories. They will always be with you. May you feel the arms of God around you, giving you strength during this very difficult time. Thoughts and prayers are with you. Keron (Mayo) Wolford Class of 1959 Posted 5/29/07 I worked with both Gary and his wife Norma for many years at the Muskegon Co. DSS (FIA). Gary was so dedicated to helping his clients. I got to know him much better in my later years when the Most unit came under my Department. He was a pleasure to work with. My heart goes out to Norma and his family. It is so difficult to lose a loved one and particularly a spouse when they are enjoying retirement and all the good things of life. May God bless you as you learn to cope with your loss.
