Elsiemae Van Nett, age 74 of Holton passed away Monday, March 10, 2003 at the Spectrum Health Services in Grand Rapids . She was born on June 30, 1928 in Flint to Leon and Mary (Burnett) Canniff and married Donald Van Nett on January 3, 1948 in Montague. Elsiemae moved to the Holton area in 1954 and where she was a member of the St. Michaels Catholic Church in Brunswick . She retired from the Hackley Hospital in 1991 after many years of service as an obstetricians technician. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Donald of Holton; her children, Linda Van Nett of Seattle, Washington; Edward Van Nett of Twin Lake; Caroline Russell of Twin Lake; Donna Van Nett of Battle Creek; Daniel Van Nett of Deep River, Connecticut; Mae Van Nett of San Francisco, California; Richard Van Nett of Grand Haven; Lori Houlihan of Tacoma, Washington; 22 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Leon Canniff of Florida; Katherine Stout of Arizona; Robert Canniff of Florida; Clarisse Stalvey of Florida; Joyce Mrakovich of Washington; her aunt, Ellen Tindall of Muskegon. She was preceded in death by her son, David Van Nett on May 28, 1988 and 1 sister, Jean Carol Herman. Funeral Mass services were held on Thursday, March 13, 2003 at the St. Michaels Catholic Church in Holton with Rev. Father Mike Alber presiding, with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery in Holton.
