Elva Vandenbelt, age 94, of Fremont passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at Spectrum Health - Gerber Memorial. Elva was born on January 11, 1918, in Sheridan, Michigan, to Peter and Emma (Madisen) Jensen and married Robert Vandenbelt on February 5, 1941, in Fremont. She had been a nurses aide at Gerber Memorial Hospital and was a member of the "Gray Ladies." Elva belonged to the Eastern Star and was a life member of the National Audobon Society. Elva had a strong faith and has been a member of the Fremont United Methodist Church since 1956. Elva is survived by her children, Bobbi (Richard) Williams of Fremont and David (Sue) Vandenbelt of Fremont; grandchildren, Larisa Bedgood and Krista (Terry) Duggan; great grandchildren, Javin and Cierrah Bedgood, Skylar and Keaton Hogan, and Braedan Duggan. Elva was preceded in death by many brothers and sisters and great grandson Brendan Hogan. Her family will be gathering in the Chapel at 11 AM at the Church on Saturday, December 29, 2012, to share together in story and prayer in an informal Memorial Circle of Remembering. They would like to extend an invitation to any who would like to join in this time of celebration of her life. Memorial contributions may be given to the Make A Wish Foundation Of Michigan.
