Dobe, Elwin J. Elwin J. Dobe, age 85, of Holton passed away Wednesday at Heartland Health Care Center in Whitehall. He was born on December 19, 1914 in Holton to John Henry and Lydia Melissa (Walsworth) Dobe and married Catherine Gladys Warner on September 3, 1938. He was a member of the United Auto Workers, served on the Holton Fire Department for over 33 years, Planning Commission, Superintendent for Holton Cemetery for 27 years and a dedicated supporter of Holton Twp. He is survived by his loving wife Catherine; daughters Janet (Earl) Langler of Twin Lake and Phyllis Derks (Walter Wittkamp) of Hesperia; 6 grandchildren; and 11 great--grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Richard Dobe Sr. and grandson Richard Dobe Jr.. Private services were held Saturday, June 24, 2000, with interment in Holton Cemetery.
