Elyse Ann Herwig, age 70 of White Cloud, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023 at her home. Elyse was born on May 25, 1953 in Detroit to Edward and Margaret Mae (Murray) Duprey and grew up in the Romulus area. Elyse met and later married Ralph Herwig Sr. on June 14, 1971 in Taylor, Michigan and Ralph preceded her in death. Elyse moved to the White Cloud area in July 1989 from Inkster and had been the key cashier at Rite Aid in White Cloud for many years and later retired from Rite Aid in Fremont in 2013. Elyse enjoyed her dogs, gardening, scratch off tickets and spending time with her grandchildren. Elyse is survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren – daughter, Michele (Scott Johnson) Smith of Big Rapids, grandson, Kevin and children, Wyatt, Eli, and Alexander; grandson, Jacob (Katherine) and children, Landon, Grant, Aurora and Phoenix; granddaughter, Danielle (Josh) and children, Isabella and Ember; grandson, Nathan; grandson, Ronnie; granddaughter, Amy and son, Bennett; granddaughter, Lisa and son, Oliver. Son - Ralph (Erica) Herwig Jr. of Newaygo and their children, granddaughter, Daphne and grandson, Oliver. Daughter, Andrea (Billy) Herwig and sons Jose, Christian, and Darren. Her brother, Edward (Nancy) Duprey and sister-in-law, Linda Duprey. Elyse was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Herwig Sr.; her parents, Margaret and Edward Duprey; her sister, Ellen (Bill) Grishaber; brother, Eugene Duprey. MEMORIAL SERVICES : Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the White Cloud United Methodist Church 1125 Newell Street White Cloud MI 49349 with a luncheon to follow in the church fellowship hall.
