Erwin G. Paulsen, age 84 of White Cloud, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Erwin was born on September 24, 1937 in White Cloud to Harry C. and Hazel C. (Redmann) Paulsen and attended White Cloud Schools. Erwin married Mable Scholz on June 22, 1974 at the Christ Lutheran Church in White Cloud. Erwin started working for O.J. Briggs Lumber Company falling trees at an early age and then began a 41 year career at Wolverine Worldwide in Rockford until his retirement. Even in retirement, Erwin enjoyed working, doing carpentry and recycling metal. He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, enjoyed deer hunting, morel mushroom hunting, snowmobiling and fishing in his younger years. Erwin is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mable of White Cloud; his children, Erwin Randy (Shari) Paulsen of Fremont; Sharene (William) Pence of White Cloud; Barbara (Tim Johnson) Walters of Grand Rapids; Tammy Ostrander of Potterville; Brian Ostrander of Cedar Springs; his sister, Lillian Brondyke of Spring Lake; son-in-law, Bruce Scott of Holland; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Erwin was preceded in death by his daughter, Wendy Lou Scott; his grandson, Chad Paulsen; his brothers and sisters, Harry Paulsen, Verna Goyings, Eleanor Towne and 2 infant brothers.
