Esther M. Cline, age 97 of White Cloud, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Esther was born on July 7, 1919 in Grand Rapids to Roland G. and Alice (Scharphorn) Hawley and graduated from White Cloud High School in 1937. Esther later married Alger Cline on September 16, 1939 in Newaygo County and Alger preceded her in death in 1968. Esther has been a lifelong resident of the area where she had worked at Rosenberg Hardware, Gerber Products, had been a waitress at Wandas Restaurant and owned the Sandwich Shop Restaurant in White Cloud. Esther was a member of the White Cloud United Methodist Church and had enjoyed reading, birdwatching, walking and visiting with her friends in White Cloud and spending time with her beloved family. Esther is survived by her children, Alger Jim (Debbie) Cline of White Cloud; Gloria Foster of White Cloud; granddaughters Chris (Sam) Noah of Livingston, Montana; Angela (Kevin) Gronso of Fremont; Amanda (Israel ) Villarreal of Brohman; 2 great grand-daughters Grace Gronso and Emma Gronso of Fremont and several nieces and nephews. Esther was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Charles Chuck Foster on October 2, 1992. VISITATION: Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 11-12pm at Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel.
