Esther Ann Macomber, age 74 of White Cloud, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at her home following a lingering illness. Esther was born on April 13, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois to William and Emily Elizabeth (Freidinger) McDonald and moved to the White Cloud area in 1946. Esther met and later married Frank E. Macomber on November 3, 1953 in White Cloud and Frank preceded her in death on May 18, 1997. Esther had worked at the White Cloud Products, Northwood Auction for several years and had been a homemaker all her life. Esther enjoyed music, hummingbirds, spending time with her grandchildren, attending auctions, visiting with friends and had volunteered at Grannys Kitchen in White Cloud where she was well known for her chicken noodle soup. Esther is survived by her daughter, Denise (James) Barkhuff of White Cloud; her grandchildren, Melissa, Dana, Franklin, Ryan, Nathan, and Jessica; her great grandchildren, Dereck, Franklin, Ian, Braydon, and Hayden; her sister, Jeannette Babcock of White Cloud; her brothers, Daniel McDonald of White Cloud; James (Katherine) McDonald of White Cloud; several nieces and nephews. Esther was preceded in death by her sons, William Macomber in 1980; James Macomber on May 22, 2001; her brothers, William J. McDonald on May 29, 1996 and Jack McDonald on June 6, 2003. VISITATION : Tuesday, September 29, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 2pm at the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel. INTERMENT : Big Prairie Everett Township Cemetery.
