Eugene A. Richards, age 74, of Twin Lake, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at his home. He was born on May 1, 1927 in Muskegon Twp. to David Lee and Verna A. (Vanderboegh) Richards and married Barbara Ellen Syers on March 21, 1947, in Muskegon. He has been a lifelong resident of the area where he had been a heavy equipment operator for Woods Trucking until retirement and member of the Operating Engineers Union. He was a member of the Holton United Methodist Church and was a veteran of WW II where he served in the US Army and member of the National American Legion, Post#225. He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Twin Lake; his children, Becky (David) Baldwin of Muskegon; Jan (Lee) Witt of North Muskegon; Cindy (Hunley) Dufour of New Orleans, LA; 2 grandchildren, William and Leslye Witt; 2 step grandchildren, Steven and Scott Dufour; his brothers and sisters, Marvin Richards, William Richards, Clyde Richards, Verna Lucille Bray, Leland Warren Richards, and Theressa Parker. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Arnold Richards & Lee David Richards. Funeral services and military rites were held on Tuesday, April 16, 2002, from the Holton United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Bremer officiating. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery in Holton.
