Evelyn H. Burton, age 87 of Hesperia, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at A New Beginnings Adult Foster Care Home in Hesperia. Evelyn was born on March 26, 1931 in Roseville, Michigan to Emil and Edith (Carroll) Wanket. Evelyn married Robert Burton in San Diego, California and Robert preceded in 1987 after 39 years of marriage. Evelyn returned to college after her marriage and graduated from Aquinas College. Evelyn moved to California at the age of 8 and then moved to Hesperia in 1973. She was a teacher's aide at Patricia St. Clair Elementary School in the kindergarten classes in Hesperia until her retirement in 1989. Evelyn was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church in Hesperia, enjoyed sewing, gardening and crafts and truly enjoyed spending time at Our Friends House, "Evelyn's school" in Hart for the past several years. Evelyn is survived by her children, Melissa (Joe) Frendo of Hesperia; Brian (Pam) Burton of Sawyer, Michigan; Robert (Ina) Burton of Ventura, California; David (June) Burton of Reno, Nevada; Terry Burton of Ventura, California; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; her siblings, Joseph Wanket of Encinitas, California; Harry Wanket of Valley Center, California; Dorothy Forbes of Hesperia, Michigan; Joann Meyer of Grants Pass, Oregon; George Wanket of Aguanga, California; Julie Ocker of Battle Ground, Washington; Caroline Matthew of Pengitah, Utah; John Wanket of Vista California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Burton and her siblings, Charles Wanket, Virginia Napolitano, and Edith Kraus.
