Evelyn Rose Dore, age 79 of White Cloud, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the Grand Oaks Nursing Home in Baldwin. Rose was born on August 19, 1933 in Walkerville to Henry Aaron and Hazel Irene (Milner) Mead and later married Charles A. Dore on June 1, 1957 in Holton. Charles preceded her in death on May 18, 2011. Evelyn had been a homemaker and enjoyed artex and painting and was a member of the Croton American Legion Auxiliary where she had been an active volunteer for several years. Rose is survived by her brothers,, James (Linda) Atwater of White Cloud; Jim (Henrietta) Mead of Shelby; Paul (Marie) Mead of Malvern, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews, including Robert Atwater of White Cloud, Chris Atwater, currently serving with the United States Army National Guard stationed in Greenville and Jeff Atwater currently serving at Edwards Air Force Base in California with the United States Air Force. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Big Prairie Everett Township Cemetery in White Cloud following cremation. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Dore family to assist with expenses or the Croton American Legion in memory of Rose.
