Evans, Evelyn Evelyn Evans, age 74 of Holton (Acker Lake), passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 28, 2005 at her home. Evelyn was born on March 1, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to Fred and Laura (OConnel) Paul and has been a longtime resident of the Fremont area. Evelyn graduated from Fremont High School in 1948 and later started working for Erwin Tinney Real Estate as office manager for several years, later started work as a secretary at Dri-Slide Inc. and currently worked at the Fremont Times Indicator in the circulation department. Evelyn enjoyed crocheting and crocheted many blankets for the foster grandparents program and was envied for her beautiful garden on Acker Lake. She is survived by her children, Gary (Debbie) Evans of Holton; Lori Kraus of Rolling Prairie, Indiana; 4 grandchildren, Scott & Eric Evans of Holton; Nick & Bill Kraus III of Rolling Prairie, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Bill Kraus Jr. and by her longtime special friend, Russell Gates Jr.. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 1, 2005, from the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Rev. Larry Wood of the Fremont United Methodist Church presiding with interment in the East Hesperia Cemetery. Friends are asked to consider the Gerald R.
