Fay Susie Bolles, age 82 of Hesperia, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 3, 2019, with her family by her side, following a short illness. Fay spent her last days surrounded by loved ones. Fay was born on January 5, 1937 in Fremont to Maver Nick and Susie (Barnett) Hendrie, the 5th of 11th children. She graduated from Fremont High School in 1955 and briefly worked at Gerber Products Company, where her sweet smile caught the eye of Maurice "Sonny" Bolles. The two were married June 8, 1957 and settled in Hesperia. Fay dedicated her life to making their house a home, raising a family, and being sure to feed every person that stepped through her door. When she wasn't enjoying a neighbor's visit over coffee or playing cards with friends, Fay, always up for an adventure, could be found hunting, fishing, or on the look-out for morel mushrooms (assuming there were no snakes nearby). In her later years, she enjoyed taking impromptu trips with her daughter all over the State of Michigan, but above all, treasured spending time with her great grandchildren; getting in all the snuggles she could manage.
She is survived by her husband Sonny, a daughter Deborah Bolles and son, Moe (Angela) Bolles; grandchildren, Jessica (Clint) Fowler and Ryan (Maria) Bolles; and the four lights of her life, her great grandkids - Skyler, Liah, Hunter, and Raymond. She also leaves behind two brothers Carl (Marlene) Hendrie and Jim (Norma) Hendrie; three sisters, Marty (Ralph) Radillo, Judy (John) Dean, and Barb Dean; two brothers-in-law, Ellis (Brenda) Bolles and Kirk (Bobbye) Bolles. Preceding her in death were a daughter, Pamela; brothers, Harold, Charlie, and Chester; sisters, Bessie and Grace; and brothers-in-law, Cash and Roger. Fay's gentle demeanor and kindness ensured she was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by many other cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Those who knew Fay know she never liked to be the center of attention or fussed over. Therefore, according to her wishes, there will only be a private graveside service, held at a later date at the East Hesperia Cemetery. In lieu of a funeral, the family asks you spend a special day with loved ones, get outside, or go on an adventure with family; it's what she would do if here today. Friends may also consider memorial contributions to Spectrum Health Foundation for Spectrum Health Hospice in memory of Fay.
