Born on August 22, 1942 in Fremont, Michigan to Robert W. and Auriel L. (Hall) Dougan, Ferol Marie (Dougan) Borkowski passed away on December 7, 2021 at Green Acres Assisted Living Center in Fremont following a gradual decline her health during the past 12 months. Ferol had worked at Gerber Products and Gerber Life Insurance Company for over 42 years where she held various supervisory positions and retired as a Quality Assurance Analyst. She had been served on the Advisory Board of Business in Applied Technology and had received recognition from NCRESA for her work on this board. Ferol was an active member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Cloud where she had served as church organist, Liturgist, Eucharistic Minister, and various Parish team and committees. She was involved in the original Parish Council By-laws in the 1970's. She loved to serve on the Nursing Home Communion Visitation Ministry serving the residents of the nursing homes in the area. Ferol graduated from White Cloud High School in 1960 and later married Fred Borkowski on November 28, 1964 and he preceded her in death on October 28, 2011. In addition to her busy and volunteer schedule, Ferol found time to golf and enjoyed the Wednesday morning Ladies League at Village Green Golf Course. She enjoyed spending time at her winter home in Florida after retirement; enjoyed traveling and meeting new people -as there were very few people she would not start a conversation with, and spending time with family and friends. Ferol is survived by her family, daughters, Liesha (Brian) Crawford of Grand Rapids and their daughter, Bridgit Leigh (Andres) Chartuni and their daughter, Sofia Isabella of Colombia, South America; Meredythe (Daniel) Doering of White Cloud and their daughter, Katlynne Elizabeth Doering of Grand Rapids; her brother, James R. (Linda) Dougan of Sparta; several brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Borkowski; her sister-in-law, Carol Dougan; sister and brother-in-law, Beverly (Wayne) Bannink.
