Florence C. Petropoulos, age 72 of Fremont, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2011 at the Mercy Hospital in Muskegon following a long illness. Florence was born on July 10, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois to Charles and Frances (Bergman) Ewald and later married David Petropoulos on June 2, 1956 in Muskegon. Florence moved to the Fremont area in 1973 from Muskegon and had worked in the Gerber Products Company cafeteria for many years until her retirement in 1980. Florence was a member of the St. Johns Episcopal Church in Fremont and had been an avid bowler, enjoyed her flowers in her yard and knitting. Florence is survived by her husband of 55 years, David of Fremont; her children, Debbie (Gary) Evans of Holton; Susan Carr of Apex, North Carolina; Linda Petropoulos of Holton; James (Pam) Petropoulos of Sunrise, Missouri; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Christina VanDyke Oliver in 2009. VISITATION : Monday, June 13, 2011 from 5-8pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 11am at the St. Johns Episcopal Church in Fremont. INTERMENT : Maple Grove Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Bellwether Harbor.
