Florice L. Sonnie Prickett, age 70 of Fremont, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2003 at the Hackley Hospital in Muskegon. He was born on June 22, 1933 in Marion County, West Virginia to Florice I. and Gertrude (Osburn) Prickett and married Karen Guerne in May 1957 in Holton. Florice was a Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Army retiring on January 31, 1971 after 20 years of service and later became a postal clerk in Muskegon and Muskegon Heights until his retirement in June 1993. He was a member of the Fremont VFW Laurels Post #6898; was a member of American Ex-POW Association.; Ex-Korean POW Association; member of the Retired Enlisted Association.; enjoyed camping, bowling, pitching horseshoes, and watching old war movies. He was also a member of the All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont . He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Karen of Fremont; his sons, Terry (Diane) Prickett of Grant; Jerry (Debbie) Prickett of Bailey; Brian (Lynette) Prickett of Grant; Darren (Denise) Prickett of Bailey; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; his sister, Patricia Willie of Baxter, West Virginia; uncle, Hershal (Sadie) Prickett of Fremont; aunt, Jean (Fred) Pica of Fairmont, West Virginia; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Ron (Winnona Cookie) Evanauski of Holton. He was preceded in death by his parents Florice and Gertrude; a son, Larry in 1963; his brothers, Donald, John, Mike and sister, Janet. Funeral Mass Services were held on Thursday, July 10, 2003 from the All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont with Rev. Father Tony Russo presiding with interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery .
