IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Floyd E.
Baskin
October 19, 1934 – February 13, 2016
On Saturday morning, February 13, 2016, Floyd Everett Baskin joined his one true love Mary Ann as he entered through the gates of Heaven and was welcomed into the comforting arms of our Lord and Savior. Floyd was an outstanding husband and father, always working hard to provide for his wife and 5 boys. He was so protective that he would lay his life down for them, if it meant their safety. He so loved each of them with every beat of his heart and they all knew that. He had many acquaintances throughout the community and a few great friends. Floyd loved to have fun and enjoyed life. He always enjoyed a good game of Aggravation, riding around in his '50 olds, playing the slots, and a cold can of beer, but mostly spending time with his family. They were so important to him. You never left without a hug, a good bye, and an I love you. Floyd dedicated his life to building Baskin Termite Control into a reputable corporation and a business of integrity these last 55 years. Yes, he was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother and friend that will be truly missed. Floyd was born on October 19, 1934, in Muskegon to Charles and Ophelia Baskin. He married Mary Ann (Sobolewski) on July 2, 1956, in Trenton, Georgia. He is survived by his 5 sons, Gregory (Tracy) Baskin of Muskegon, Brent (Michele) Baskin of Grand Blanc, Mark (Tammy) Baskin of Hesperia, Denny (Christine) Baskin of Middleville, and Kevin (Cody) Baskin of Twin Lake; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Dorothy (Frank) Strach of Muskegon, Betty (Bill) Baskin of Pinckney, Carl (Loris) Baskin of Hesperia, and Kenneth (Bernice) Baskin of Olmstead, Ohio; and many dear friends. Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann; parents, Charles and Ophelia Baskin; sisters, Barbara (Don) Loessel and Geneva (Glen) Niva of Muskegon; brothers, Charles (JoAnne) Baskin of Illinois and Marvin (Rhonda) Baskin of Muskegon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon on Friday, February 19, 2016, at Christ The King Catholic Church in Hesperia with Father Roc Majalla.
