Floyd Allen Towne, age 88 of White Cloud, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. Floyd was born on September 5, 1934 in Big Prairie to Eugene Albert and Mary Ida (Aishe) Towne and has been a lifelong resident of the White Cloud area. At the age of 17, Floyd joined the United States Air Force where he served during the Korean War until his honorable discharge and returned to White Cloud. He met and later married Gladys O. Chiverton on September 18, 1954 in White Cloud and Gladys preceded him in death on January 15, 2015. Floyd had owned and operated Car-Lo Forestry in White Cloud for many years, harvesting and selling lumber, until his retirement and then started his new job of fishing, which he enjoyed doing 6 days a week. He was a quiet man of God and had been a longtime member of the White Cloud Church of God. Floyd enjoyed hunting in his younger years, bowling, camping, the Michigan outdoors, playing dominos most recently but he treasured the time he spent with his family the most. Floyd is survived by his children, Laura Light of White Cloud; Mary (Dave) Shafer of White Cloud; Gene (Julie) Towne of White cloud; Glenn (Trudy) Towne of White Cloud; Sally (Robert) Gilmore of White Cloud; Kathie (Randy) Inman of White Cloud; 25 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; his sister, Mary Jean Ogg of Florida; his brother, Ronald (Carol) Towne of Ketchikan, Alaska; brother-in-law, Floyd Franklin of Fremont; many nieces and nephews. Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys; his brothers, Kenneth, Edwin, Earl Towne; and his sister, Edith Franklin.
