Hodell Jr., Forrest "Doc" Forrest Doc Hodell Jr., age 77 of White Cloud, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2006 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Doc was born on March 24, 1929 in Howard City to Forrest and Ella (Clark) Hodell Sr. and later met and married Theresa Stedman on February 28, 1948 in Howard City. Theresa preceded him in death on April 5, 2002. Doc has been a resident of the White Cloud area since 1959 when he moved from the Howard City area. Doc owned and operated Docs Barber Shop in Howard City and Stanwood for many years until its closing in 1973, but Doc continued his cutting hair at his home in Big Prairie Township for many years. He enjoyed dancing and listening to polkas, woodworking and building buggies and toys, visiting friends throughout the countryside. Doc had also been a lifelong farmer and enjoyed raising and working with Belgian draft horses on his farm for many years. Doc is survived by his children, Mary (Nicholas) Rizzon of Wyoming, Michigan; Marie (Dan) Addis of White Cloud; Robin (Bill) Gustman of White Cloud; Frank (Judie) Hodell of Lunnenburg, Massachusetts; Bob (Susan) Hodell of Big Rapids; special friend, Lorraine Braman of White Cloud; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; his sister, Betty Cumberworth of Diamondale, Michigan; his longtime companion, Gidget. He was preceded in death by a son, Rex David Hodell on January 25, 1987; a granddaughter, Tammy Hodell; and by his brother, Bob Hodell. Funeral services were held on August 31, 2006 at the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel with interment in the Goodwell Township Cemetery.
