Frank "Bud" Darwin Spaulding, age 87, of Newaygo passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at his home. Bud was born on January 12, 1934, in Hesperia to Cecil Gardner and Cora (Brown) Spaulding and married Marilyn Joan Bobel on May 7, 1955. He had worked at the Sparta Foundry, Nelson's Farm Market, and was a driver for many local Amish friends. He was proud of his large gardens, and loved camping, antiquing, making maple syrup, and plowing snow. Bud was an outdoorsman, proudly served in the United States Army, and a member of the Newaygo Congregational United Church of Christ. Bud is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Marilyn; children, Holly Spaulding of Hesperia and Jonathan Spaulding of Lehigh Acres, Florida; sisters, Barb Annis and Evelyn Bonstel; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Spaulding; and brothers and sisters, Keith Spaulding, Warren "Al" Spaulding, Shirley Spaulding, Beatrice Gardner, Marjorie Place, and Beverly Walker. A celebration of Bud's life will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at the Newaygo Congregational United Church of Christ with Pastor Jon Reidel officiating. There will be a time of visitation at the Church prior to the service starting at 1 PM.
