Obituary

Frank L. Favre, age 80 of Newaygo, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at the Transitional Health Services in Fremont. Frank was born on January 2, 1934 (1-2-34) in Periasc, Ayas, Valle dAosta, Italy to Lino and Albina (Obert) Favre and moved to Chicago, Illinois at an early age. Frank joined the United States Army and was stationed in France following World War II when he met and soon married his wife of 56 years, Silvana (Bassetto) on May 3, 1958 in Teuillac, France. Following his return to the United States, Frank lived in Chicago and moved to Newaygo in 1961. Frank was most proud of his work at New Day Industries in Newaygo and later became a project engineer at Sand Mold in Newaygo until his retirement. Frank enjoyed golfing, bowling, traveling and spending the winter months in Destin, Florida. Frank especially treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren and enjoyed making projects for and with them. Frank is survived by his wife, Silvana of Newaygo; his daughter, Lora (Mark) Eminhizer of Portage; his son, Terry (significant other, Dawn) Favre of Mesa, Arizona; 3 grandchildren, Alyssa, Shea and Barret Eminhizer; his brother, Richard (Barbara) Favre of Pentwater. He was preceded in death by his brother, Blaise Favre. Private memorial services were held at the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Newaygo with Deacon Jeff Burns of the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church presiding with interment in the St. Bartholomew Catholic Cemetery in Newaygo. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Newaygo County Commission on Aging Home Delivery Meals on Wheels Program for memorial contributions in memory of Frank.
