Frank Roland Sutter, age 81 of White Cloud, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2000 at the Mecosta General Hospital in Big Rapids following a short illness. He was born on July 23, 1919 in Luther, Michigan to his parents, Melvin and Mary Sutter and married Ellen Marguerite Jensen on September 27, 1941 in Kent City. Ellen preceded him in death on August 24, 1997. He had been a truck driver for many years and was a life member of the Peacock V.F.W. Post #5315 in Baldwin. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the United States Army as a Corporal. He is survived by his children, Frank (Virginia) Sutter Jr. of Kankakee, Illinois; Sue Ann Giese of Atalanta, Australia; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Frances Elliget of Nashville, Michigan; brothers, Merril (Dorothy) Lamb of Casnovia; Floyd Lamb of Grand Rapids; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-laws, Evelyn Lunsted and Olive May Jensen. He was preceded in death by 6 sisters. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 27, 2000 from the Crandell Funeral Home in White Cloud with Rev. Richard C. Hoogerhyde presiding with military rites given by the Newaygo V.F.W. Sportsmans Post #4249. Interment was in the Big Prairie Township Cemetery.
