Frebon Jones, age 85 of Fremont, formerly of Weaverville, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2010 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Frebon was born on September 9, 1924 in the Paint Gap Community of Burnsville, North Carolina to Fate and Loretta (Honeycutt) Jones. Frebon has been a self employed produce wholesaler and was a veteran of United States Navy where he served during World War II. He is survived by his son, John (Barbara) Jones of Fremont; grandsons, Derek Gregory Jones of Biddeford, Maine; Kyle Lee Jones of Chicago, Illinois; great grandson, Ira Patrick Segovia of Monrovia, California; his sister, Mamie Robinson of Asheville, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Inez Jones, his sisters Vernie Metcalf, Audrey Ledford, Texie Hyatt and brother Kimsey Jones, half sister, lassie Riddle, half brothers, Fred and Guy Jones. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 19, 2010 at the West Family Funeral Home in Weaverville, North Carolina with Ref.
