Brooks, Fred Fred Brooks, age 91 of Fremont, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2002 at the Transitional Health Services in Fremont. He was born on June 4, 1911 in Everett, Michigan to Milo J. and Bessie (Bowley) Brooks and married Mabel Barritt on October 8, 1937 in Everett. He has been a resident of the Fremont area since 1946 where he was a member of the First Congregational Church United Church of Christ in Fremont. He had been a dispatcher at the United States Post Office until his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Mabel of Fremont; his son, Jack Brooks of Fremont; his daughter, Elaine Brooks of La Jolla, California; two brothers, Arnold (Gwen) Brooks of Grand Rapids; John (Frieda Brooks of Orlando, Florida. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen and Ruth and a special friend, Anne Sorenson. Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 6, 2002 from the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Rev. Ray Dekker presiding with interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
