Fred Carson, age 69, of Hesperia died Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Fred was born on March 3, 1942, in Hesperia to George and Gertrude (Roberson) Carson and married Sue on November 21, 1984. Fred farmed his entire life and especially enjoyed his many friends. Fred is survived by his loving wife Sue; children, Marty Stapel of Hesperia, Tod (Brooke) Stapel of Hesperia, and Russell Stapel of Hesperia; grandchildren, Zoie, Christopher, Taylor, Hunter, Kaylee, and Logan; sister and brother, Charlie (Margie) Carson of Hesperia, Willard Carson of Hesperia, George (Lillian) Carson of Shelby, Norman (Joan) Carson of Fremont, John (Mary) Carson of Lansing, Kit Carson of Fremont, Ruthie (Richard) Scarbrough of Fremont, and Ivan (Alice) Carson of Hesperia; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, April 5, 2011, from 6 8 PM at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont with funeral services on Wednesday at 2 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Otto Cemetery.
