Frederick J. Beck, age 90 of Newaygo, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011 at the Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial Hospital in Fremont. Fred was born on August 28, 1921 in Oceana County to John Wesley and Johanna C. (Myers) Beck and has been a resident of the Newaygo Area for the past 25 years. Fred married Virginia Roznowski and she preceded him in death. He later married Leola Antor in 1990 and she preceded him in death in 2006. Fred had been a truck driver for Morley Brothers until his retirement and enjoyed fishing for bluegills and tinkering at his home. Fred was a member of the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church and had been a member of the Moose Lodge. Fred is survived by his son, Mike (Jill) Beck of Wyoming; step children, Frank Antor and special friend, Bev of Rockford; Anita (Duane) Putnam of Greenville; Bette Antor of Novato, California; Peggy (Mike) Mercer of Newaygo; Tom Antor of Howard City; Bill (Marie) Antor of Conklin; Roxanne (Tom) Ray of Oshkosh, Wisconsin; Sandy (Macgill) Antor of Crofton, Maryland; 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; his sister, Doris Hansen of Arizona. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and sisters. Following Freds wishes, cremation has taken place. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 2pm at the Ressurection Catholic Cemetery 4100 Clyde Park SW Wyoming MI 49509 with a time of luncheon and fellowship from 2:30-4:30 at the Wesley Park United Methodist Church 1150 32nd Street SW Wyoming Michigan 49509.
