Freida W. Howe, age 79 of Fremont, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015 at her home following a short illness. Freida was born on August 26, 1936 in Fremont to James and Louise (Pratt) Wright and has been a lifelong resident of the area. Freida had been a nurse's aide in the home health care field for many years until her retirement. Freida had been a member of the Foster Grandparents Program, enjoyed knitting many hats for TruNorth, cooking, listening to southern gospel music and especially treasured the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Freida attended The Church at White Cloud. Freida is survived by her children, Wyman (Candy) Balcom of Simpsonville, South Carolina; Pamela Crawford of White Cloud; Kevin (Patricia) Balcom of Casnovia; Tonya (Stephen) Ochs of White Cloud; her grandchildren, Tammy (Randy) VanDoeselaar; Nicki Ford; Shane (Rosenda) Crawford; Kari Balcom; Mandy (Marlon) Crosby; Wyman Balcom; Kenneth Balcom; Kurt Balcom; Kristi (Brian) Zilka; Sydnee Ochs; her great grandchildren, Martin Crawford; Cristian Hernandez; Antonio Hernandez; Wil VanDoeselaar; Hailee Crawford; Mariona Crosby; Dora Crawford; Maggie VanDoeselaar; Brayden Zilka; Logan Ford; Grayson Zilka; Kaiden Balcom; Colton Zilka; her step children, Floyd (Rhonda) Howe Jr. of Fruitport; Linda (Wayne) Souter of Taylors Island, Maryland; Gregory (Karen) Howe of Rapid City, South Dakota; her sisters and brother, Betty Zenk of Fremont; Judith (Bill) Cody of Howard City; Arla Suiter of Bristol, Tennessee; Eunice Wright of Haines City Florida; Harold (Debra) Wright of Sterlington, Louisiana. Her lifelong friends, Ruth Overly of Muskegon; and Anna Brooks of White Cloud, friends Laura Pinks of Fremont; Tito and Rachel Rodriguez of White Cloud. Freida was preceded in death by her parents, James and Louise Wright; her sister, Joyce Hendrickson; and her granddaughter, Alicia Renee Crawford.
