Gail John Tatrow, age 85 of Fremont, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 8, 2022. Gail was born on June 19, 1937 in Garden, Michigan to Andrew and Della (Farley) Tatrow and later met and married Phyllis C. Swanson on November 3, 1962 in Muskegon. Phyllis preceded him in death on November 14, 2021. Gail has been a resident of the Fremont area since 1970 when he and Phyllis moved from Muskegon to Fremont. Gail had been the 7th and 8th grade United States History Teacher at Mona Shores Schools for over 30 years until his retirement in 1994. While at Mona Shores, Gail also coached girls softball, volleyball and basketball for many years. He had been active in Newaygo County 4H for many years, enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming but mostly treasured the time he spent with his family. Gail is survived by his son, Paul (Jill) Tatrow of Fremont; daughter-in-law, Lynn Tatrow of Wayland; his grandchildren, Andrew Tatrow of Fruitport; Nichole Greene of Sparta; Dekota (Kaleigh) Tatrow of Allegan; Jessica Lambright of Wyoming, MI; Megan (Jerry) Gonzalez of Bailey; Matt Nelson of Fremont; 11 great grandchildren. Gail was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis, his son, Scott Tatrow in 2012; brother, Morgan Tatrow in 2022; sister, Crystal D. "Sissy" Tatrow in 2013. An open house and time to gather to celebrate Gail's life will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 1-4pm at the Reeman Christian Reformed Church 6121 S.
