Reed, Garnet E. Garnet E. Reed, age 91 of Fremont, passed away Saturday at the Brookhaven Nursing Center in Muskegon. Garnet was born on September 26, 1914 in Denver Township to George and Ada (Matthews) Dake and later married Millard G. Reed on February 8, 1935 in Hesperia. Millard preceded her in death on August 1, 1995. Garnet has been a lifelong resident of the area but also spent some winters in Zephyrhills, Florida. She had worked at the Gerber Products Company for 28 years until her retirement from the labeling room. Garnet was a member of the County Bible Church, had been an active member of Hesperia Senior Center and AARP in White Cloud, former member of Farm Bureau and Aetna Home Extension. Throughout Garnets life, she was organized and detailed and enjoyed sharing her hospitality with many people. She is survived by her daughters, Donna (Richard) Rose of Fremont; Carol (Howard) Connell of Muskegon; 10 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; her brother, George (Mary) Dake of Muskegon; her sister, Cloe Kuehneman of Arizona; her sister-in-law, Marie Dake of Florida. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Carl Dake and M. William Dake. Funeral services were held on Thursday, September 7, 2006 from the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with interment in the Lincoln Township Cemetery.
