Garth K. Anderson, age 60, of Fremont passed away on Monday, September 12, 2016 at his home. Garth was born on June 21, 1956, in Lansing to Charles and Joan E. Anderson and graduated from Fremont High School in 1974. He later graduated from Ferris State University with a degree in Criminal Justice and began a long career as a corrections officer for 30 years until his retirement in 2010 from the Muskegon Correctional facility. Garth was an avid baseball player, a lefty pitcher, in high school and continued to play mens softball after high school where he was well known in many leagues. He enjoyed gaming, hunting, was an avid Michigan State Football fan, Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers fan and watched the Young and the Restless most days. Garth moved back to the Fremont area to take care of his parents in their older years until their passing and truly loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Garth is survived by his children, Katey Woodlock of Sunman, Indiana; Michael Woodlock of Fowler, Indiana; Kolynne (Quinton) Mosley of Hesperia; Robert Charles Anderson of Fremont; Craig Alden-Henning Anderson of Fremont; 7 grandchildren, Bayleigh Anderson, Kennedy Mosley, Maddox Mosley, Quinlynn Mosley; Bentley Anderson, Jenson Anderson, and Ava Anderson; Braxton Hendrix; his brother and sister, Kevin Anderson of St. Joseph and Wendy (Rick) St. Peter of Fremont; 5 nieces and nephews; several aunts, uncles, and cousins in the Upper Peninsula. Garth was preceded in death by his father, Charles on March 16, 2015 and his mother Joan, on April 18, 2016. VISITATION : Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 5-7 pm at Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. MEMORIAL SERVICES : Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 7pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Rev. Ray Dekker presiding. INTERMENT : Maple Grove Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Fremont Area District Library.
