Gary G. Sharp, age 58 of Fremont, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at his home following a short illness. Gary was born on February 16, 1955 in Fremont to Harold G. and Lillian M. (Castle) Sharp and graduated from Fremont High School in 1973. Gary met and later married Lisa Newfer on September 15, 1979 in Newaygo and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and tinkering in the barn. Gary had been a bus driver at the Newaygo Public Schools for 16 years, had worked as a mechanic at Briar Hill Golf Course and had worked in the construction industry. Gary is survived by his wife, Lisa of Fremont; his children, Stephanie Sharp (significant other, Anthony Vandelaar) of Fremont; his son, Benjamin Sharp of Fremont; his granddaughter, Isabella Spahr; his brother, Rick (Cynthia) Sharp of Newaygo; special friends, Gary and Lisa Keyes of Newaygo; his uncle and aunt, Gordon Buck and Dee Sharp of Newaygo; his mother-in-law, Jeanette Newfer of Newaygo; his brother-in-laws, Scott Newfer of Newaygo; Fletcher (Jennifer) Newfer of Newaygo; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A time of remembrance and celebration of Gary will be held on Friday, October 18, 2013 from 4-7pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. Friends are asked to consider the Gary G. Sharp family to assist with expenses for memorial contributions in memory of Gary.
