Geneva Mae Thomas, 94, left us for her heavenly home on November 25, 2024 after a short illness. Born on May 22, 1930 in Muskegon, Michigan she moved to Fremont in her early teens where she lived the rest of her life. She is lovingly remembered by; her children Janet S. Thomas and son-in-law Chris A. Houghtaling and Steven A. Thomas (Lori) , granddaughter Jennifer Mae, great granddaughter Brianna, her brother David Ross (Peggy), her dearest friend and care giver Sharon Escalante (Carlos) all of her children and grandchildren, her nephews Wayne and Val Ross, her niece Tammy Stone-Jager and many other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Thomas, her son Michael J. Thomas, her parents Adrian and Hazel (Harrington) Ross and her siblings Darlene and Phyllis.

A lifelong avid , veracious, reader with a strong desire to continue to learn, she recently completed writing two children's books. Also an accomplished seamstress, quilter and knitter it was her true passion to attend and to contribute to the Reeman Christian Reformed Church, their mission outreach in Guatemala and their day program Wellspring. She often said that when she began attending church there, she felt like she was home.

Services will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024 with visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, and services at 11:00 AM at the Reeman Christian Reformed Church with visitation followed by lunch at the church. Private interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont, MI. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to: Wellspring Adult Day Services. Arrangements by Crandell Funeral home in Fremont.
