Urban, Genevieve T. Genevieve T. Urban, age 84 of Newaygo, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at the Gerber Memorial Health Services. Gen was born on August 16, 1921 in Hayes, Pennsylvania to Peter and Theresa (Jordan) Bacik and later married Joseph F. Urban on February 12, 1941 in Detroit. Joe preceded her in death on May 24, 1997. She has been a resident of the Newaygo area for the past 59 years when she and Joe moved from Detroit in 1947. Gen was an active member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Newaygo where she taught Catechism classes for many years, had enjoyed sewing and knitting and especially enjoyed spending time with her kids, grand children, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Gen is survived by her children, Pat (Ed) Heideman of Newaygo; Bud (Rosemary) Urban of Midland; Sharon (Bob) DenBraber of Grand Rapids; her grandchildren, Tammy (Greg) Atwood; John Heideman; Jeanne (Nolan) Jamieson; Tom (Tammi) Heideman; Joe Heideman & Kim Ross; Stacy (Paul) Klappholz; Nicole Heideman; Kelly Heideman; Michelle Urban Johnson; Taffy (Norm) Vaughn; Nana to her 24 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; her sisters, Clare Lupfer of East Wenatchee, Washington; Marge Elliott of Reno, Nevada; Janet Zenobian of St. Clair Shores, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her grand daughter, Tina Marie Urban and sister, Betty Spencer. Funeral Mass Services were held on Friday, May 19, 2006 from the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Newaygo with Rev. Father Thomas Boufford presiding with interment in the St. Bartholomew Catholic Cemetery in Newaygo.
