Obituary

George L. Caseltine, age 68 of White Cloud, passed away Monday, December 13, 2004 at his home following a short illness. He was born on September 2, 1936 in Aurora, Indiana to Harry and Maude (Nobel) Caseltine and later married Sylvia Tice on January 14, 1967 in Muskegon. George had worked as the Newaygo Medical Care Facility for 8 years as a nurses aid and later retired from the Michigan Army National Guard after serving 23 years at the Grand Haven Armory. He also served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He was very patriotic and was a member of the White Cloud V.F.W. #2053. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 39 years, Sylvia of White Cloud; 1 son, Jeffery (Jane) Ashley of New Castel, Indiana; 1 daughter, Leona (Artie) Penn of Muskegon; 5 grandchildren, Summer & Ken Tolar of White Cloud; Amanda & Jeffery Ashley Jr. of New Castel, Indiana; Ashalie Penn of Detroit; 1 sister, June Kinnett of Aurora, Indiana; his mother-in-law, Viola Christopher of White Cloud; his father-in-law, John Tice Sr. of Muskegon; numerous brothers and sisters-in-laws; nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Friday, December 17, 2004 from the Crandell Funeral Home with the White Cloud V.F.W. #2053 Chaplin presiding and military rites given by the Newaygo V.F.W. Sportsmans Post #4249 with interment in the White Cloud Cemetery. Friends may consider the George L. Caseltine Family for memorial contributions.
