Obituary

George Allen Dickinson, aged 90, passed away early Thursday, March 13, 2025.  Born December 31, 1934 to Raymond "Ray" and Ruth (Waters) Dickinson in White Cloud, Michigan.  He graduated from White Cloud High School in 1954, entered the Army in 1955 and left the service as a SP3 from the 25th Infantry Division in 1957.  He returned home to farm and raise a family on the very land he was born on.

George was primarily a dairy farmer but was also active in his community by serving as Lincoln Township Treasurer from 1962 to 2015.  Every school friend of his sons knew a few dollars could be made to come bale hay in the summertime just as everyone knew George and Karen were always available for a chat when dropping off their taxes.

The farm kept George very busy but when he had free moments, he enjoyed fishing and deer hunting.

He is preceded in death by his wife Karen, son Robert, parents Ray and Ruth, and siblings Margarat, Lois, William, and James "Elton".  He is survived by in-laws Elaine Dickinson, Lora Mae (Fred) Brazee of Lansing, Leslie Lindsey of Fremont, and Janet (Cal) Dekryger of Grand Rapids,  his sons Tige William of White Cloud, David Alan (Wanda) of White Cloud, and Phillip George (Andrea) of Waldorf Maryland.  Also important to him were his grandchildren; Samuel Dickinson (Bethany) of Charleston, SC, Tyler Dickinson of White Cloud, Michelle (Zach) Kamphorst of Fremont, Megan (Jaden) Sella of Fremont, and great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will gather to honor George's life at a funeral service on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 12:00 pm at the Country Bible Church in Fremont, MI. The service will be officiated by Pastor Len Lason. Visitation will take place prior to the funeral from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the church. Following the service, a graveside ceremony will be held at Lincoln Cemetery in White Cloud, MI at 2:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Newaygo County Compassion Home, an organization close to George's heart.
