Obituary

Guthrie, George George Guthrie, age 75, of Diamondale and formerly of White Cloud passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at home. George was born on September 20, 1924, in Benzie Co. to George Archie and Amelia (Wolever) Guthrie and married Phyllis Farr on May 7, 1946. He was a Navy Veteran of W. W. II and was a retired pipeline construction superintendent. He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis; daughter, Sherry (Tom) Sawyer of Holt; sons Michael (Virginia) Guthrie of Knoxville, Tennessee and Davey (Sandy) Guthrie of Mason; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister Geneve Eaton of White Cloud; and several nieces and nephews; very special sister and brother-in- laws, Shirley and James Cole of Cedar Springs. He was preceded in death by sisters, Irene Thumser and Myrtle"LaHoma" Hughey. Funeral services were held on Saturday May 20, 2000 at the Christ Lutheran Church in White Cloud with Rev. Richard Hoogerhyde and Rev. David Thiele officiating. Interment in Big Prairie Cemetery. For a more lasting memorial please consider the Sparrow Hospice Services.
