L. George Irons, age 82, of Levering, MI and formerly of Hesperia, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 in Harbor Springs, MI. George was born on March 31, 1937, in Newaygo County to Leroy and Areldine (Rollison) Irons and married Joyce Marlene Bitson on April 2, 1960, in Shelby, MI. George owned and operated Irons Construction & Specialties Company for many years and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and was a collector of many oddities. George is survived by his loving wife, Joyce: children, Sheryl (Darwin) Conley of Clarkston, MI, Steve (Sally) Irons of Niles, MI, Randy Irons of Kingsley, MI, and Rodney Irons of Levering, MI; 11grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Marilyn (Bill) Stevenson of New Jersey, Beulah (Jack) Enderle of Michigan, Leroy Irons of Tennessee, Arthur (Candy) Irons of Tennessee, and David (Terri) Irons of Minnesota. George was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Life service for George will be held at 1 PM on Friday, March 13, 2020, at the Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel (7193 W. 48th Street Fremont, MI 49412).
